Welsh Learner studying in England - ILR error

Created

We have a learner whose home address is in Wales, however we believe he is eligible for AEB funding under the following guidance in the regs: 'We will fund an individual who does not live in England if specialist skills training is only available in England and the individual wants to travel to, or live in, England to study or learn". The student in question is living in our halls of residence and is undertaking a Stonemasonry course which sits under the specialist skills training remit (we believe). Currently an error is created though when we enter him on the ILR because of his home postal code, can anyone advise how we code him correctly in the ILR so there is no longer a flagged error?

Is it a full ILR error, not a warning? Which code? We definitely have a few odd Scottish and Welsh students some years who study specialist courses with us, under that exception. We've never had a full error, but it appears in PDSATs.

This is the error that is coming up:

'The learning aim start date postcode is not valid on the start date of the learning aim and the source of funding'

I'm wondering whether we should enter his home address as the college residence and the Welsh address just as correspondence?

"Postcode" should be your halls. "PostcodePrior" should be Wales. The "LSDPostcode" I guess needs to be your halls, as that's what's triggering that error. We know it's allowable, so it can't be anything else.
