No more than their 'normal working hours' would allow? If an apprentice worked 37.5 hours a week and their employer let them dedicate every single one to off-the-job that week, I don't see why they couldn't. Any more than that and there'd be an issue with them doing stuff 'out of hours'.
I think your colleague is confusing the minimum required with what is maximally allowed, IMO.

Sorry if I'm about to ask a really dumb question.
Is there a maximum number of OTJ hours an apprentice is allowed to record weekly?
A colleague has advised one of our apprentices that he can only record 8 hours per week as this represents 20% of his contractual hours per week. He is now confused, as he attends college for 8 hours per week and is now concerned he wont be able to record anything else per week.
Can anyone advise?
