Tracy Clement thanks, but they don't need to achieve the level 2 F/S for their Standard, they are level 2 apps so only need f/s 1 or GSCE grade 2. But they must attempt the level 2. I hold evidence of the achievement for the L1 equivalent needed for Gateway (GCSE grade 3 ). It's just the evidence of attempting the Level 2 f/s I won't have before Gateway

Attempt maths after Gateway?
Created
Hi,
I was wondering if someone can point me to the paragraph in the funding rules that says an apprentice must attempt the level 2 maths before GATEWAY (not the end of prog). We have a learner who is desperate to start his EPA, but the earliest we can arrange his maths L2 is for late Feb. He has a GCSE Grade 3, which is sufficient for gateway and will attempt (and hopefully pass) before the end of the EPA. Can I put him through Gateway before he attempt it, but the exam will be booked?
Paragraph 41.2.covers the fact they need to attempt it
45 says The provider must provide evidence of the apprentice’s achievement in English and / or maths. They must do this as soon as possible and before the gateway to end-point assessment.
However 45 only talks about the achievement, but in does it mean achievement as in a pass or fail outcome, therefore evidence of an attempt? or am I safe to put him through Gateway now?
Thanks
