Apprenticeship agreements for learners passed planned end date

Hi everyone,

We have a number of learners passed their planned end date for a variety of reasons and were looking to make sure we have captured correct paperwork. We know that the apprenticeship agreement must be extended to cover the required time to achieve any outstanding learning and the EPA, would it just be the AED on the agreement that would be changed to be reissued and signed? We're assuming you wouldnt change the planned end date unless the learner has been on a recorded break in learning.

For the training plans for the same learners, assuming they have no outstanding elements and have just been delayed entering EPA (for instance, waiting on the EPAO) would the training plan need to be reissued and amended also?

If learners havent yet completed learning, functional skills for instance, were assuming the training plan would need to be amended with new target completion dates for that learning to be completed, but the PED wouldnt change - only the AED.

Hopefully that makes sense! Any help appreciated

Josh

We've developed a standalone form that is signed by all three parties, which says "This form is an official amendment to the Apprenticeship Agreement and Training Plan".

It has details of the reason for extension, an explanation of how the training plan is being updated and what the remaining delivery will look like, a new Estimated End Date (not including EPA), and a new Estimated EPA Date. Neither of those go in the ILR, but we store the first Estimated End Date in our student records system, so if they go past that, we request another extension.

This is just for people who haven't got to gateway in time. If someone got to gateway on or before the PED (so we've closed the record as 1/8 with an AED) and is just waiting ages for EPA, this isn't needed.

Definitely don't change PED, and you're not changing AED in the ILR, as you just wouldn't have entered one yet.
