Working under 30 hours, must we use the formula?

Hi advice is required.

We have a learner who works 24 hours per week, the employer is prepared to release the learner to attend college and obtain the OTJ learning over the same duration as other learners who work 30+ hours. So long as I document the confirmation, is it acceptable not to record an extended end date on the Training Plan and ILR?

The minimum one year duration must be extended if the apprentice is part time, no exceptions. That's part of it being considered a valid apprenticeship.

If your normal duration was 24 months, and you choose not to extend that, I think you'd be ok as long as it was documented clearly. Full time students are allowed different planned durations on the same Standard if you're fast tracking some.

Thank you Ruth, I didn't make it clear, the course is 30 months, so I'd not be looking to increase the time longer.

Thank you for your feedback.
