Hi has anyone ever had a situation where 2 brothers from overseas have got residence permits but have the same NI on both permits? I didn't think this could be possible.

All NI's are meant to be unique so it sounds more likely to be an error on someone's part along the way?
You'd be surprised how un-unique NINOs are, but this is a special kind of bureaucratic mishap... Are they twins/do they both have 1 Jan as their birthday?
So, I don't think there's any check on NINOs being different in the ILR, but, also, clearly they need to get on to HMRC and sort it out (good luck with that...)
