Read paragraph 84 and 85 of the 23/24 rules:
84. At the end of the practical period, if the training has been delivered over a shorter duration (e.g. 14 months compared to 18 months) AND the actual volume of off-the-job training hours delivered is less than the original volume of planned hours agreed with the employer, the provider must produce a statement to summarise the following information:
But yes, the minimum OTJ does go down if they complete early, as long as you still did at least a year. If they finish before 365 days, you should technically unfund the whole apprenticeship.
Thank you Ruth Canham-James. We would always produce a summary statement with a narrative around early completion, but i guess we don't need to resend AA as the original covers the period.
We developed an Early Completers form, which includes all the requirements in P84-85, and the employer and apprentice sign it. We also developed a form for apprentices carrying on past their Planned End Date, instead of resending the whole Apprenticeship Agreement. There's no reason an addendum is less valid that someone resigning the whole document with changes, as long as it references the original.
That's a great idea and I agree, when we edit our workflow..it generates ALL docs as part of original enrolment (inc funding and application summary), so it seems a whole lot of unnecessary forms for an addendum as you say. I will refer to our head of ops and ask them to look at something similar. Thanks very much for your support and time Ruth Canham-James. Really appreciate it.

Practical period - early completer - New agreements

Hi,
If a learner finishes their practical period earlier than planned, do we need to update the apprenticeship agreement and resend for signatures, so we have the "actual" duration, as per latest funding rules. If so, do we also recalculate the min OTJ to be reflected on the last day of learning?
