It’s programme aims rather than learners, on the basis that they can conceivably leave, come back, then leave again. If the calculation looked just at learners as individuals, my example learner would only count once where they should in fact count twice (specific circumstances of the learner in question notwithstanding).
If you go one step back from the accountability framework dashboard and go into the ‘Apprenticeship Learners’ tile, it’ll show you how many programme aims it used for the calculation.
That’d be useful, wouldn’t it? But no, not that I can immediately recall. I seem to remember them doing a webinar on the AAF a while back before they published the ‘technical’ specification where I guess they mentioned it?
It’s since just become a ‘truth universally acknowledged’
No, there is *not* a published technical specification, something that has been driving me barmy since day one of the AAF! However, in fairly hopeful news, the current person in charge met with the ESFA Technical User Group a few weeks ago and seemed a lot more open and understanding as to why we would want/need one, so fingers crossed...

Withdrawal Calculations on the AAF
Created
Can anyone shed any light please? I thought the withdrawal calculation in the AAF was total number of withdrawn learners as a percentage of total number of learners (both figures excluding any learners who did not meet the qualifying period)?.
We had 63 learners who withdrew - 3 did not meet the minimum 42 days. So is it not 60 as a percentage of 422, resulting in 14.2%?
I cannot make the maths work to arrive at the 13.8% they're showing on the AAF dashboard.
Any help greatly appreciated!
