EAS Upload error message

Created

Good morning, we have tried to upload our EAS submission this morning and we are getting a Fileformat_01 error, The file is not in the format described.

Our upload matches he format as below so we cant understand why its being rejected?

Invalid file format - the first line of the file must contain the following values (this is the header record):
FundingLine
AdjustmentType
CalendarYear
CalendarMonth
Value
DevolvedAreaSourceOfFunding

Has anybody else had any issues uploading EAS returns?
Many thanks

If you open a csv file in Excel (which instinctively I often do) it can mess with the format even if you keep it in csv - might be worth opening it in Notepad to check the headers?

CME

Thank you Timmo, yes ive checked it in notepad and it does seem sporadic but when i change it back to CSV the headings are as they should be and this is what we submitted to SLD.

Ive sent a message to servicedesk to see if they can offer any advice.

Very odd as we haven't changed any of the processes and has always worked fine.

Timmo

Very odd indeed. Only other option I can think of is to create a new file and then not open it at all in Excel before submitting.

I raised a query with ESFA and after being sent a link to the sample file twice, which went to page not found both tines and a comment about a carriage return and I finally received the below response. I haven't been able to check yet as EAS still closed but assuming this will work.

I remember the sample file being incorrect at the start of the year.
