Incorrect planned end date - APR

Created

I have found an error when auditing an enrolment for one of our apprentices on their functional skills enrolment.

The planned end has gone through the ILR as 22/01/2026 (the end of the apprenticeship) rather than 23/03/2025, which is what it should be. As this is significantly wrong the provider support manual suggests that this can be amended. However, we have to close off the record and re-open it.

It says to set the end date as 01/08/2024, however this is before the student started (start date is 23/10/2024). I understand the need to close the record off and re-open with the restart indicator ticked and then the prior learning adjustment filled in. My query is regarding the end date of the enrolment and the start date of the new enrolment. If I took the record back to the start date we would have the funding we have received clawed back and then receive less funding on the new enrolment due to the prior learning adjustment. Would it be best to  close the record off with today’s date for example and then start the new enrolment the day after (with the restart indicator and prior learning adjustment)?

Any help would be very much appreciated

I think you might be reading the guidance on correcting an error after a hard close. If the start date was in the current year, you can just correct the Planned End Date 😊

Agree with Ruth, as it's in-year (and only a month in, at that!), just correct the end date on the original record.
