Did they go on a break because they had a gap of over 30 days between employers, or were they already on a break and happened to change employer in that time? We get both scenarios.
If it's the former, you should have already had an unemployed employment history entity, and you'll now need a new one for the new employment. You then need to create the restarted learning delivery records, with the restart indicator and original start date. The TNP situation I always forget for this scenario! I think it must be TNP3 and TNP4 as that's what you'd do for a change or employer without a break. The new employment record and the enrolment restart should be completely separate processes, though I don't know what MIS system you have. The new employment history record must have same or earlier start date that the new enrolment start date.
If it's the latter scenario, it would be pretty much the same I think, but you might not have an unemployed record in between.
Hi Ruth,
Thanks for your support with this. The moved from one employer to the other in September 20024. The break was applied as learning was not resumed until November. I have therefore added a new employment record in September and a learning start date for November.
So for the DAS record, start date September or November? and the ILR a new aim with TNP3 and 4?
Thanks so much, I always find the change of employer scenario tricky.
November start date for the enrolment, use TNP 3 and 4 I think, but check the funding is coming out right in the next month end reports. Normally a restart just records the same original TNP 1/2 records, but a change or employer is new TNP 3/4 records, and you've got a hybrid.
Sep start date for the new employment history.

Change of Employer

Hi,
We have a learner on a break who has started with a new employer it's within 12 weeks and over 30 days. Can I just check do you end the break and then complete the change of employer process I can't see how to do this simultaneously on our MIS system. On the ILR, just checking it's the restart indicator, TNP 3 and 4 and start date with new employer/learning as it aligns.
Have I missed anything?
Many thanks
