Practical Period Completed but Withdrawal at Gateway

Edited

Hello

I have a hypothetical question....if an apprentice completes their practical period but then withdraws at Gateway (and before EPA has taken place), do we keep the component aims (non qualification and qualification) as 'completed' and just change the Programme aim to 'withdrawn' in the ILR? i.e. withdrawing at Gateway would not mean that we have to withdraw them from all aims (where the practical period is completed)?

Thank You

If the components are regulated quals, you still report the true result/outcome of that aim. Programme aim is a withdrawal. The non-reg aims you have to include really doesn't matter as it doesn't represent anything, but we'd withdraw it to match the programme aim.

Thanks Ruth Canham-James - my issue is that 'we' appear to be internally reporting those at Gateway as Completions even though in the ILR they are still 'continuing' (with Outcome '8 - results not yet known'). If they then withdraw, our projected 'completions' figure will be affected (negatively). I don't imagine we will have many of these at all - but just want to be prepared to explain why classing them as completions at Gateway (and before EPA) could be problematic 😊

We record all gateway apprentices as Completion Status 1, Outcome 8 and with an Actual End Date. That's what we're supposed to do, we can't opt not to do that. You don't record them as Completed until they pass/fail EPA. You just can't project that all gateway apprentices are going to complete.

We do get a few of these every year. It's frustrating because you lose the whole 20%, but the EPA was probably less than 20% so we're actually losing training funding, and we probably won't get a full refund from the EPAO either, so it can be a big loss.
