We trialled this feature before it was added for everyone, and raised this scenario, but no solution was given.
I just found a video about this from DfE from March 2024: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjRRT9HYOI8
At 48:18 someone called Rob says specifically says about the RPL screens "Please note that all the fields are mandatory, if you are only reducing one of these values in these instances, you would need to select No on the previous page when asked about prior learning".
I'm not convinced that's correct, but it's on a published video, so I'd go with it! If anyone says it was wrong that you clicked No, show them this video.

RPL on DAS issue
Created
Good morning all,
We have several learners whose price has been reduced, but from what we can see on the Maytas tab, their OTJ hours remain the same. When we select yes for RPL in DAS, it says we must reduce their OTJ hours. Please see error message below:
if we select ‘no’ to RPL, we do not have to complete any of these details
Am i correct in saying if we are not reducing the duration, the learner will still need to meet the minimum OTJ for the full duration of the apprenticeship?
OTJ and length of study go hand in hand so are we able to reduce the price of the funding band but still keep the original duration and OTJ?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks all
