Also, if you don't extend the planned end date (even if you've gone past the original planned end date) then the learner will come up in this DSATS report:
Report ID | Report title | Report purpose |
25A-509 | Breaks in learning where learning is not re-planned on return | Identifies learners and any learning aims recorded as a break in learning where the learner returns but the learning planned end date is not amended to account for the time spent on the break in learning. |
We tend to just add an arbitrary new PED of about a month after the restart date. It's a weird situation, as you could take the opportunity to significantly extend the PED to keep them a timely achievement, as there's no published guidance on what to do. You physically can't only extend the PED based on the duration of break, or it would be before the restart date. As Chloe says, no extra funding until you hit completion, so it doesn't impact on that.

Recording a BIL following the Planned End Date
Created
Hi All,
Just wondering how people record a BIL when the learner has gone past their planned end date (assuming they are still in learning and not hit the gateway).
Essentially if this was done, when recording the restart there would be no time added on to their original planned end date? (Usually the term of BIL is added to the end but can't in this case as they have already passed their planned end date)
