You can reduce the price for any reason you choose, it doesn't have to be RPL. You can't claim more than what's left in the band, but you can charge the employer extra to fill the gap.
When it comes to what RPL you log in the DAS, I'm not sure how to manage that. I'd record the true duration and hours reduction you plan for, and I guess the price reduction you would have applied ignoring what's actually left in the band. You may decide there's no RPL at all. Any further reduction isn't strictly as a result of RPL. The DAS only asks for price reduction as a result of RPL, not other reasons for a reduction (like a previous provider overclaiming).
It seems to be a common theme lately that providers are taking on apprentices that started at another provider, but the apprentice is far behind what would be suggested by what's left in funding 😕

RPL for a learner with no KSB's

Hi,
We have an apprentice who is due to start her L3 Early Years with us next month. She was previously enrolled onto this course with a previous provider from September 2023 - May 2024 and have clarified that previous funds of £2016 have been drawn down.
The previous provider has stated
'16% has been completed of the standard aim
22% has been completed of the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) aim
No units or KSB's have been signed off.'
The apprentice has completed the skills scan which indicates little knowledge and based on this we wouldn't reduce her apprenticeship.
Could anyone help further with how we should do this? Should I just reduce the price without the content and duration? Sorry am new to doing this part of the role so any help would be great.
Thank you!
