Self Employed - Employer Contribution
Created
None
Hello,
We have a number of learners interested in starting an apprenticeship. They are all self employed, working as contractors to a company. The company are willing to put the learners through their apprenticeship service account and pay the contribution (non levy employer).
Is this able to happen? Normally; for any self-employed learners; we would get them to pay the contribution themselves.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks in advance.

The apprenticeship rules confirm that you cannot claim funding for self-employed apprentices (paragraph 29.1). It says sole trader, but I imagine limited company would also be excluded through 29.3.
