That's useful info, thanks Wayne Hosking
Why must the apprentice still be employed? If the new employer isn't involved in the slightest, how is that different from being unemployed? It just provides yet another unnecessary barrier to apprentices completing. An apprentice who is focussing on finding another FT job can't sit EPA until they get a new job, but if they just got themselves a tiny PT Saturday job, they can can sit EPA because they are technically now employed? That makes no sense at all.
If you had an apprentice who left their employer post gateway, who was in the process of getting a new job, how long can we wait for them to get a new job? Can we just leave the apprenticeship at 1/8 for months? We can't apply a BIL post gateway. If we withdraw, we'd then have to restart with new start and end dates which would have to be fake because there is no further delivery to do.

Loss of Employer at EPA, new Employer ref 120.2
Edited
Hi all,
I'm sure you feel the pain as do we when a learner decides to jump ship when they have moved into the EPA gateway phase and don't understand the impact that they will need a new employer in order to complete their apprenticeship.
Where someone does obtain a new employer, has anyone contacted the help-desk under funding rules 120.2 / 120.2.1 and actually had the technical guidance?
What was the expectations for the new employer? DAS / Agreements etc
I did contact the help-desk with the usual helpful reply.
"Each request of this nature must be approved by the Department for Education (DfE) first, and technical guidance will be issued once approval has been granted. To begin this process and gain approval, please provide the following required information:"
Kind regards
