There's nothing like an edge case!
If Kelly's suggestion doesn't work, then yeah, going to have to be a Withdrawal and then a restart four days later. The only advantage is the new programme can be less than 12 months under the new rule, you'll just need a whole pile more paperwork...

Redundancy / Restart

The ESFA state that when a learner is made redundant (after October 15th 2020 and they have more than 6 months left on course) they will fund their apprenticeship for 12 weeks while they find other employment. If employment isn't found within 12 weeks they must be withdrawn.
We have a learner that was made redundant on Friday 27th November 2020. The 12 week funding that the ESFA offer 'finished' on 19th February 2021. However, our learner started his new employment on 22/2/21 and the new employer wants them to carry on with apprenticeship.
Do we have to withdraw him even though the new employer wants to take over?
Any advice on how to proceed with the learner correctly would be really appreciated.
