DAS and the ILR don't match on end date, only start so "it doesn't matter" in terms of your DLOCKs. Would still strongly advise using the same month as Planned End Date (ie the end of the practical period NOT EPA date). I suspect any reporting for employers on future spend uses the end month entered in DAS to calculate, so if it's not the same as the ILR (which drives the *actual* money) they'll be all to pot.
Thanks Steve,
We've had a couple of employers that will only approve the DAS cohorts if they include the EPA period as they have stated that's what the ESFA have advised, 'the DAS cohort SHOULD include the EPA period'. If this isn't going to cause a data match error I can accept this then.
We are doing the same and including the EPA period for the End Date as this reflects the apprenticeship as a whole for employers. There's a link here which may now be outdated - see employer section:

EPA included in DAS
Created
Hi All,
Pretty sure I know the answer, but does DAS need to included the EPA period.
Eg. A learner on planned course length of 18 months and then eg 3 months EPA the DAS entry should be for 21 months (inclusive of EPA)
If this is different to the planned end date on the ILR would this cause a data match error?
Thanks all.
