National Achievement Rates 19/20

Created

None

Does anyone know if the ESFA will be publishing NARTs for 19/20? It's usually around the end of March is it not, following the final QAR data extract? I know in their update last year they said they weren't going to be publishing institution level QAR data due to the impact COVID had had, but that they were considering national data. I wonder if anyone had received anything more recent?

Nope, 19/20 data just doesn't/will never exist.

My main concern is they're saying the same about "no institutional level data" for 20/21 now...

Thanks Steve Hewitt - figured this was going to be the case. Doesn't make self-assessment particularly easy as a data manager, especially with no national comparator, but I guess everyone is in the same boat.

Today confirmation that they will publish high level national summaries of qualification achievement rates (QARs) for the 2019 to 2020 academic year on Thursday 25 March

Ha! It's like they're trying to make a liar of me! Sending that update literally 20 minutes after my response above!!!

Mainly concerned at this point that they haven't published the technical guidance for how they've done it (we've just got the business rules). Also we'll have to see what "top level" means (if it's not down to qual level it won't be of much use to providers...)

Martin West could you potentially link me to the update?

Steve Hewitt agreed - wonder if "top level" will just be Level and Age Group which is nice, but as you said.. not incredibly useful for providers
