Martin West is the webinar posted on the ESFA YouTube channel do you know? Or is there a PDF booklet somewhere? I've explained this exact scenario to a colleague but they're refusing to accept that the OTJ hours will remain the same but over the revised timeframewithout 'proof'
Hi Ben - not sure if this is just a case of misinterpretation of the wording.
If an apprentice takes a break and returns, the OTJ and duration of training is likely to be the same, only with a BIL somewhere in the middle, therefore you wouldn't expect the OTJ hours to change.
The revised timeframe I assume applies to the adjusted predicted end date. Therefore the duration of the apprenticeship and the OTJ is the same if you take out the BIL.
Hi Ben,
They have updated the webinars for OTJ training due to Covid, so the original is no longer available.
The ILR specifications are specific:
For apprenticeships this field collects the Planned off-the-job training hours (as defined in the funding rules) that will be delivered to the individual apprentice over the full apprenticeship (excluding the end-point assessment period) by the training provider, sub-contracted training providers and the employer.
For a transfer from another provider, it is only the OTJ hrs with the new training provider but for a return from a BIL it would be over the full apprenticeship.

OTJH following a break in learning
Created
Hi everyone.
I have seen previous threads in the past where this has been discussed but I can't seem to find any solid confirmation on this.
When a learner returns following an agreed break in learning, how are the OTJH recorded? Are the original total hours returned or just the remainder of what they need to complete to reach the original number.
Kristian.
