QAR Achievement Rates

Created

Hi

We have a learner who's planned end date is 31/07/21.  Our Trainer has been working to this date and the learner is almost ready to enter Gateway.  We are organising availability with the EPAO and it is looking that they will conduct the 'live' assessment in August.  So in theory the actual end date would be 2020/21 and the achievement date would be 2021/22, am I right in thinking this will go down as a negative overall achievement rate as the planned end date is 2020/21?

Thanks

Regards

Not negative, they come out of the 20/21 cohort entirely and will be in the 21/22 cohort.

This would not go down as a negative overall achievement rate as it will not be included in the 2020/2021 QAR but it would be included in the following years QAR.

Sharon Toothill From memory the Hybrid end year is the LATEST of planned end date, achievement date,  or reporting year.

So for overall it will not be counted as a negative in 20/21 but as a positive in your 21/22 - assuming the apprentice passes :-)

Even though potentially we could have, say actual end date 31/07/21 and then coded as 2 and 8 awaiting results, would this learner then carry into 2021/22?

The hybrid end year is whatever the latter of the following dates is;

a) achievement year (for apprenticeship standards on funding model 36 only)
b) planned end year of the learning aim
c) actual end year of the learning aim
d) reporting year

Though it should be 1/8 until the EPA has been completed and the outcome/achievement date is known

No you code as 1 and 8 until the EPA is completed, this will carry them over to 2021/22 as they have not been completed..

Thanks all, much appreciated :)

Hello, I currently have 3 apprentices who have undertaken their EPA and now we are awaiting the result.

On PICS, it does not allow me to change to 1 and 8 stating 'if completion status is 1:Continuing learning, outcome must be 9:Study Continuing'.

Anyone know how to work around this or advise if I am inputting this incorrectly?

Steve Hewitt

Quite surprised PICS haven't sorted this out, as it's been a requirement for almost two years now... Just to be clear, it's just the ZPROG you set to 1 & 8, not the component aims.

Christina Marfleet

Just to add we use PICS, and you can code the ILR 1 and 8 on the ZPROG aim, we do.  However on the QAR it treats them as a negative until the ILR is updated when the EPA is passed.

(for everyone else) Our friends at Pellcomp picked that up on this thread:

I am getting the exaxct same error when I try inputting 1 and 8 into the ZPROG:

'if completion status is 1:Continuing learning, outcome must be 9:Study Continuing'.

Any ither PICS users know a workaround?
