If they finished in last year, why would the employer now be worried about a planned end date? It seems like an odd thing to be concerned about. If they started last year but were still continuing in 20/21, you do need to fix the ILR data following the errors after hard close rules.
Thank you Steve,
Ruth they have not finished but started last year and I have no idea why the employer has only just noticed and wants it changing now but they are a big employer and want their reports to look right based on what other learners on the co hort are working towards which is why I thought we could just change their portfolio which drives their reports but in the back end nothing changes. I just wasn't sure if this would create issues if we were audited on them but if the original docs and ILR both match then hopefully we should be fine.
You are meant to change the ILR data if you find an error. Under the PSM section about correcting errors after a hard close;
Continuing learners whose Learning planned end date has now been identified as significantly incorrect
On the learning aim, set the Completion status to code 3 ‘withdrawn’ and complete the Withdrawal reason using code 40 ‘Learner has transferred to a new learning aim with the same provider’. Record a Learning actual end date of 1 August of the current year.Record a new learning aim with the same Learning aim reference and a Learning start date of 2 August of the current year and the correct Learning planned end date. Record this aim as a restart (Learning Delivery Funding and Monitoring Type = RES) and complete the Funding adjustment for prior learning field with the percentage of learning that is still to be delivered.This data should only be changed when it is identified as incorrect due to administrative errors. The Learning planned end date must not be changed to take into account a revised planned end date due to a change in circumstances such as illness, slow progress or unemployment.
If the planned end date is identified as being incorrect and the date prior to 1st August of the current year. This data error cannot be corrected. You will be required to acknowledge this administrative error in the learner evidence.
We have to do it from time to time.

Change to planned end after hard close
Created
An employer has just noticed that a learners planned end date is incorrect and would like us to change it. This applies to the last funding year so we can't change anything in the ILR. My question is if we change it in the learners eportfolio so the employers reports look right should we then obtain a new app agreement and commitment statement or should we keep the original as that is what matches the ILR? I think the 2nd option as the auditor will check dates against paperwork but interested to hear if anyone has any thoughts.
