PDSAT test 10 ii- EPA employment evidence

Created

PDSAT includes a test that there must be evidence that the apprentice is still in employment on EPA achievement date.   Where in the funding rules does it say this?

We were recently audited and had to provide a signed statement from the employer for each apprentice in the sample to confirm they were still employed on the date they sat their final element of EPA.

120. The apprentice must be employed until the end-point assessment is completed.
Consideration must be given to the potential time needed for any re-sit and / or
re-training prior to re-taking the end-point assessment so the apprentice
remains employed during this time.

Thanks, that's great.  HelpDesk have said that the requirement has been part of the rules since 2021.

Does anybody know if the signed Apprenticeship Agreement or Training Plan would be suitable evidence if the apprenticeship duration and end date covers the End Point Assessment period?

Martin Locock

Jessica De Melo  That was what we had assumed but the rule is specific about it being evidence that they are *still* employed at achievement date.  (I have seen EPAOs say that confirmation at gateway would meet this requirement but the rule says on completion of the EPA).

Yes, we had to provide evidence to show they were employed on the day they sat.

Jessica De Melo

Yes in that case we've had some conflicting advice too! Thank you both :)
