Apprenticeship funding rules 26-27 version 1 now published

Created

It appeared around 9:30. Only 2 weeks later than they stated!

Summary of changes:

Significant changes/clarifications (in my opinion) from the draft version are:

  • New for Version 1 – Policy update: At the end of the programme, the employer, provider and learner must agree that the content of the training plan has been delivered. This can either be recorded in the training plan or in the provider’s gateway review process.

  • Good to see they have listened to us regarding this.

  • New for Version 1 – Policy update: We have included the funding rules on the apprenticeship hiring payment for non-levy employers.

  • Sadly it will be paid to us and we have to pass it on to the employers, but at least we know.

  • New for Version 1 – Update: If a provider is made aware that a learner is not being paid in line with the National Minimum Wage Regulations, the learner must be withdrawn from the programme.

  • Clarification: We have provided further information around the use of TNP2 estimates, the acceptable sources of the data used and how often this information must be updated

Yes, it is nice when they listen, isn't it!?

Obviously very grumpy that the trailed changes to the visa rule haven't appeared...

Thanks for this Becky

For those who don't know - there is a webinar organised by the DFE/DWP to discuss these 26/27 funding rules on Wednesday 17th June at 12:00

Hopefully they will help us identify other changes for our 26/27 starts.

"The webinar is full" :((( (never quite understood how a webinar can be full...)

Hopefully they'll publish it on YouTube nice and quickly afterwards...

Are we thinking (or hoping) that the changes to the Visa rules will appear in V2?

Steve Hewitt

Honestly not expecting anything at this point... Like why trail it in March and then not just have it in the first version?

Wayne Hosking

You can still subscribe and watch the webinar, its not on their YouTube comms channel yet. They did say they were looking at the Visa rules thus expect an update in the future, v2 no doubt.
