Error - LearnDelFAMType_06

Created

None

Hi,

I'm not sure if I'm missing something simple but for an ASF starter this month I'm getting this error "The FAM type and code is not valid for this Learning start date", relating to LDM-388. This is an LDM code I've used on every aim for a few years now, can't see an end date for it or a replacement code for 26/27? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Steve

Thanks for that, I'm sure I looked at that page before I posted this and there wasn't an end date! I can't see a replacement code that starts from 01.08.26, I wonder if that means we just don't need to record an LDM like that anymore...

Not sure I'm afraid, I'm rather out of the loop on ASF just noticed the code in passing.

I can't see any reference to alternatives in https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/adult-skills-fund-funding-rates-and-formula/adult-skills-fund-funding-rates-and-formula-2026-to-2027#procured-dwp-funded-asf-provision

Thanks, I've contacted the helpdesk but was hoping somebody on here would've already noticed the change and figured out what to do differently. I've tried uploading without LDM-388 and I get the error "There is no Adult Skills Fund funding relationship for this UKPRN" which usually showed when you missed an LDM code...

Hi Steve, this is the reply i got from the service desk on Friday

We have been advised by the policy team that the LDM code can no longer be extended, as responsibility for the associated budget has now transferred to the DWP.

However, the LDM code should remain available within systems for continuing learners, as it can still be applied to eligible records up to 31/07/2026. The end date has been implemented to prevent new starts being funded under this code and should not affect continuing learners.

If a software supplier has removed the code entirely from their 2026/27 system, this would be a matter for the supplier to address, as the code should continue to be available until it is formally removed from the LDM list.

Providers experiencing this issue should contact their software supplier to ensure the code remains accessible for valid continuing learner records.

Thank you for the reply Ann, I don't have any issues with learners that started before August, it's the new learners with start dates in August I'm getting errors for. If we no longer use LDM-388 I'm not sure what to use instead, using no LDM causes an error too. Is there a different LDM code that people are using for 26/27 starts or is there something else I'm missing?

Although they closed my ticket as complete I have gone back to them asking them again directly what LDM I need to use for 2026-2027 starts

steve.bowler

Thanks for that, I'll post on here if I get any updates too. So do you have the same issue, unable to get new August ASF starts to go through the ILR without errors?

Ann Weldon

yes I am getting an error too so cannot get anything posted through, I will also put on here if I hear anything

Steve Hewitt

Got to love a Machinery of Government change... Presume both of your organisations have had an extended contract for 26/27? They didn't do a new procurement, did they?

steve.bowler

Yep that's correct for us Steve, do you think they just need to do something at their end to make these go through without errors? Can't imagine that they'll create a new LDM code now...

Steve Hewitt

Six and two threes really, no more difficult to add a new LDM than it is to change the date on an old one... Once they realise they HAVE to do it for the remaining procured contracts, something will happen, just a question of whether it's before next Friday...

Would strongly advise screaming at your ASF contract manager, presuming you have such a thing?

steve.bowler

I'm currently at the 'discussion, are you aware of this issue' with them haha, will save the 'screaming' stage if it's still like it in the middle of next week! Must be impacting everybody with ASF like this, surely they need to have it sorted before R01 otherwise nobody will be getting paid for August starts, still amazes me after all these years how often things like this happen...

Ann Weldon

Hopefully they switch it to a warning so that we can get August starts through & paid, I will post on here if I can a reply to my ticket as well

steve.bowler

Just had a phone call with our DfE contract manager who says it is a problem their end and they've had other providers contacting them about it. He will give me an update when he has heard from the relevant colleague so hopefully it will be sorted the first half of next week if not before...

This is a message that i have just received through the service desk

Good morning,

Thank you for your patience.

The LDM code 388 is going to be extended to the 31/07/2027 and will be live in the system tomorrow.

Please resubmit your report and the errors will clear.

steve.bowler

Thanks I was just about the post the same thing! I'd removed LDM-388 from everybody seeing as the code had an expiry date of 31.07.26 so will have to go back in and add it again now :-(

Paul Rogers

it looks like the ILR specification was updated last night (or this morning) to change this.  So just need to let the software suppliers know now!
