Is there a definition of what activities a Provider can support an Apprentice with prior to EPA once they have completed on-programme learning and passed Gateway? eg. practice observations, practice discussions, practice interviews

The implication of the funding rules is that the training provider's role finishes at gateway so any assessment preparation activities should be timed to take place before gateway.

Hi Clair

As Martin states, anything beyond gateway cannot be included as OTJ, so we always ensure our learners have completed all their required OTJ hours before going to Gateway.

However, we are still heavily involved with our learners right up to the EPA and use this time to do recapping/mock assessments and mock EPAs

Thanks both, yes OTJ is part of the gateway sign off so no worries on that front!

I would be wary of planning significant Training Provider support activities after gateway, because the logic says that if delivery is complete at gateway then any staff costs you incur after gateway aren't an eligible cost.  This would mean that when audited they might look closely at  your TNP1 charge  to ensure that this was calculated to cover solely pre-gateway delivery.
