Programme pre-requisites query

Created

None

One of our programmes has a pre-requisite set by the Employer that candidates "will need to have obtained a level 3 qualification* (as the equivalent of two A Levels, e.g. A Level Grade A-E) or be awarded by the start of pre-employment checks" - with this link provided.

A candidate has achieved a Level 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering, which on the face of it appears to satisfy the requirement because "Level 3 Award" is in the abovementioned list.

Should I be concerned that this qualification doesn't seem to feature on the Prior Attainment guidance for a Level 3 or not? After all, it's at the employer's discretion as to who they do and don't allow to enrol.

Sounds like they're looking for what we'd usually describe as a Full Level 3 (ie at least 2 A Levels)? I'd suggest they are more explicit.

An L3 Award is too small to count as Full Level 3 (which would be a Dip or *some* Certs, it's complicated). In terms of the ILR Spec it would be a 5, not a 6.
