21_22 R01 FIS error for Prior Level

Created

Hi All

I am getting the following error in the R01.  Is anyone else seeing this?

"The prior attainment date level applies must not be after the file preparation date"

I get that the prior level date is after the date I ran the file, but surely this is going to be the case for all starts if they start after the day you run the file?

thanks

Joan

Hi

I getting this error for 7 learners that completed a community learning course and progressed to an Adult Skills in the same month.  Why is it asking for a matching prior attainment record for a community learning course?   Are you putting any dates in apart from the start date of the enrolment?

Hi,

I have read through this thread and can see these are from 3 months ago. Have there been any updates since?

I was able to submit R04 without this issue, thank goodness, as R131 was a warning. Now I'm preparing for R05, the warnings have now become errors.

I have a similar issue to that posted by Angela Peck; done the following regarding the new Prior Level fields

  • added a record for the original prior attainment (previous years) in the new entity, using the new values with the learner's earliest start date in previous years, if this remained unchanged for 21/22 we didn't add any further records, effectively leaving us with a prior attainment with a date <01/08/21.
  • The same as the above but if prior attainment changed for 21/22 we added another record making the "date level applies" equal to earliest start date for 21/22.
Should we be recording the learner's prior attainment (level when first started at our institution), in the new prior level fields, given that this information has always been required and that the new entity is there to show the current attainment which could not be seen in the ILR in previous years.

I am very cautious of removing all the old prior attainment records created in 21/22 Prior Level, in case it turns out that it should be there. If I can determine whether the old data should be included, I then know, I need to get to the bottom of why these are errors. I think deleting the old records may well get rid of the errors but may not be the right thing to do.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
