DAS Change of employer & overlapping dates

Hi

We have an apprentice that has changed employers where the last date of employment and new date of employment both occurred in the same month. The new employer is unable to approve the change as the DAS is saying the dates are overlapping. The DAS only asks for the month and year rather than the specific dates though. Can anyone offer any advice on how we can resolve this?

Have you recorded the correct dates on the ILR?

Hi Martin

Do you mean in terms of the emp stat start & end dates? If so, then yes we have. We've also recorded the dates against the new TNP3 & TNP4 dates.

The apprenticeship Service do advise:

The previous employer must ‘stop’ the apprenticeship and enter the apprentice’s last month of employment with them as their ‘end date’.

And they've done that - entered the last month of employment as May. But the learner started with their new employer the day after they left their previous employer so the new month of employment is also May. This however creates the 'overlapping dates' error in DAS which is preventing the new employer from approving the apprentice. I cannot see anything in the guidance that will help with resolving this????
