Learning Aim start date

Edited

None

Morning, QQ? Can an employee's learning aim start date be the same as their employment start date ? It's not something we would usually do, or have been asked before, as employees usually have an induction etc prior to the learning start date. However, the employer has asked if we can do the engagement workshop on their first day to save them coming into the office two seperate days? I think it's a hybrid WFH role. Many thanks in advance for any guidance

Can't see it being a problem? Certainly nothing in the Rules about it.

Yes, i couldn't find anything in the rules either Steve, but my admin department have now said that when they enter the same dates in the ILR it generates an error saying there must be one day between??

Martin West

The ILR start date on the Programme is the date they start the Practical period and the start of any other aims must be on or after this date and not before.

I have a feeling the error your admin department is referring to relates to the 'Employment Status' line. There needs to be at least one 'Employment Status' entry with a 'Date Employment Status Applies' prior to the start date on the ILR, otherwise you will get an error. This is because;

The date of one of the Employment Status records must be before the start date of the earliest recorded learning aim or programme aim.

If they were unemployed prior to the start date, add a line for this and you'll fix the error

Ben James yes, that is exactly the error! Thank you very much for clarifying. It's always great to learn new things . Have a good day everyone
