Non - EEA eligibility

Hi, we have a new learner from Thailand, she has lived in the UK for 4 years and has Indefinite Leave to Remain, Settlement status with the Permit card. Does this give her eligibility for funding? and what other evidence do we need?

Many thanks

Whilst I'd usually ask "what funding stream?", anyone who has been here four years and has ILR will definitely be fundable regardless of what course they're doing. Just note you've seen the ILR evidence.

Thank you, it is for an apprenticeship Level 2. We have also been advised that we should be given a 'Share code' so we can view their right to work here? This learner has not applied for citizenship but does have a visa covering her time on her apprenticeship, is this ok?

It is all new to us so any advice is much appreciated!

Um, share codes are usually for the EU Settled Status scheme? I'm not aware of a broader one (although I don't know absolutely everything!). In a sense, it's up to the employer to check Right to Work and confirm to you that they've done it?

Melissa Clark Whoever said you needed a share code has misunderstood the situation. They're just for EEA citizens who applied for settled status. I think your student falls under P394 of the apprenticeship provider rules.

Thank you both for replying!

Ok, that makes sense! Its nice to have someone confirm we are reading the rules correctly.
