I'm guessing you may have already done so, but I'd suggest reading this guide as it's really extensive - Earnings adjustment statement (EAS) guidance: 2021 to 2022 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Effectively you will need to do the following things;
- Download a copy of the EAS sample file from here - Earnings adjustment statement (EAS) 2021 to 2022 - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
- Remove all entries, save for the header row
- Use section 5 from this guidance to help you populate the columns
- Save the file using the filename structure specified in the guidance (e.g., EASDATA-10001234-20220714-153000.csv)
- Submit it alongside your ILR return (R01-R12 by the 4th of each month, R13 by 14/09, R14 by 20/10)
- You'll get an EAS error report (much like the RVR) which will tell you if you've done anything wrong
- You'll also get an EAS funding report which shows all entries which have passed validation
- You'll then (hopefully) get paid and it will appear on your funding summary report (note: this is paid monthly in arrears)
You are correct that for all learning support that was delivered during this contract year that you wish to claim for on the EAS, it would need to be submitted no later than R14.
Hi Julie Newman,
Excellent guide form Ben James.
Don't forget to keep a copy of the EAS that you submit as once you submit it you will need to upload it - with any amendments - at every subsequent return to the end of the year (R14).

We have an apprentice who we need to claim Learning Support funding over the £150 monthly rate via EAS. I have not done anything like this before and would really appreciate some help from someone who has done this before with some basic instructions. I have found various things in the support manuals but very concerned about not getting it right. The Apprentice started at the start in August 2022 and I believe I need to make a claim no later than the R14 return.
