Providing they (the apprentice) don't fall under any of the criteria set out in the 'Individuals who are not eligible for funding' section, then there'd be nothing wrong with this. The rules refer to self-employed apprentices being ineligible, but only if they're acting as employer and apprentice.

Employed for apprenticeship but self employed for something else

If an apprentice has an employment contract with their employer for the purpose and duration of their apprenticeship but are also self-employed for something else (i.e. doing an Admin Apprenticeship but also registered as self-employed for their own business doing something construction related) are they still eligible for the admin apprenticeship? They have a contract of employment with the admin employer that covers the duration of the apprenticeship.
