QAR for late EPA

Created

None

Hi all, we have a learner who has gone through Gateway in March 2022 and her EPA was scheduled for July 2022. She then went on maternity leave just before her EPA.

As I understand I couldn't put her on BIL as there is no learning to be done

She will potentially do her EPA in January 2023. So this will count towards 22/23 QAR.

But what if she doesn't return from maternity leave and EPA is not completed? How do we withdraw her on that stage and what happens to QAR?

TIA

So, this will count towards 22/23 QAR?

It will count against whichever QAR the hyrbid end year falls in; that is to say the latest of the following 4 dates - achievement year, planned end year, actual end year, reporting year

But what if she doesn't return from maternity leave and EPA is not completed? How do we withdraw her on that stage and what happens to QAR?

You would withdraw her from the programme as of the learning actual end date. The main/component aims could be left as achieved, on the basis that they were (presumably), and her withdrawal from the programme does not affect these achievements. The same logic applies as above; the withdrawal will impact the QAR of whichever year has been determined to be the hybrid end year

They will not be reported in the QAR as a leaver as they are reported in the ILR as in learning.

  1. We base the overall QAR on the hybrid end year, which is the later of:
  • the achievement year of an apprenticeship
  • the actual end year of an apprenticeship
  • the planned end year of an apprenticeship
  • the reporting year

They will be included when they either complete or are withdrawn.

When was their planned end date because if it was in 21/22 and their last day in learning for their withdrawal is also in 21/22 they affect QAR for 21/22, not sure how it works if we makes these changes after R14, prehaps then it falls into 22/23
