Apprentice no longer requires functional skills

Created

None

Hi

We have a few apprentices that were registered with our subcontractor for functional skills. However, they have since provided proof of certification and no longer need to take it through the apprenticeship.

These aims are still on the ILR, how do we close them. Do they need to be set to withdrawn ?

Would appreciate any advice on this because we haven't experienced this before.

Thanks, Alice

If you’ve done an initial assessment and it says they were working below the requisite level, then you’re entitled to claim for the teaching that’s been delivered by the subcontractor. You’d need to withdraw them as of the last date of learning prior to your having received the exemptions. If no teaching was required, then you can’t claim funding, and you’d withdraw them back to the start.

Hi Alice

Yes, they need to be set to withdrawn. If the learners did some studying before producing their certs, you can make their Actual End Date the last time they attended (and, most importantly, keep the money for that bit of learning!), if they signed up but didn't do anything or produced their certs really quickly, just delete the english/maths aims from the ILR.

NB there's no achievement rate for E&M on apps, so don't worry about withdrawing them!
