Eary Completers and TNP Costs

Created

Hi All

A question has cropped up and I'm not sure of the answer!

If we were to estimate that an Apprentice would be on a 2 year programme and we estimated that our costs as a provider would be £4800 for this time that they are on programme, if the learner were to complete early should we be changing the TNP1 price upon their completion?

Ie. only 21 months delivered and therefore 3 further months have been charged on the TNP which we would not be delivering (equating to £600).

Do we change their TNP on the ILR to £4200 as we complete them (is this entered on the day of completion or day before?) or is this acceptable for the provider to receive the total cost?

No, because your costs should be based on the content of your delivery rather than simply how long it would take to deliver it. If the apprentice has completed all of the content earlier than originally anticipated, you'd be entitled to the remaining balance on the basis that you've delivered all of the training you said you would.
