OTJ when an apprentice achieves earlier than planned

Created

Hi I have searched the funding rules and cannot find the answer , can anyone please clarify if an apprentice achieves earlier than initially planned, for example 3 months earlier but still meets the required minimum 12 months , can you amend the OTJ planned hours to suit the length on program, or do you leave as is but record the actual hours they have completed, or do they need to complete the planned hours? The minimum duration for the standard has been met, it just seems unfair to make them complete more hours when they have worked so hard to achieve the practical element.

Definitely don't change the planned hours. Providing the number of hours they've completed meets 20% of the actual duration, you'll be fine. You'll need to write/have signed a statement detailing a number of things, as covered within P54 of the funding rules which covers "Planned hours agreed at the beginning of the programme versus actual hours delivered"
