Is this an optional qual you've delivering alongside an apprenticeship? We do loads of these. Just record as Funding ID 99, SOF 998, aim type is not a component, no ACT, no Programme Type, just fully code as unrelated to the apprenticeship (In our software we have to untick a few more boxes to make it not look like an apprenticeship). Internally, our course codes make it look like they part of the apprenticeship, as that's how the employers see it, but they're not really. You shouldn't use the funding adjustment if there's no funding at all.
Well it is due to the fact the main aim has ended. Any qualification that we otherwise would have been able to claim funding for, we will no longer be able to as far as im aware.
Hence why i suggested the funding adjustment to ensure we dont draw any down.
Would your suggestion still be advised here?
Assuming it's an apprenticeship, any mandatory quals ending has no impact on funding. If you opt to allow an apprentice to do more quals, you usually can't claim any funding for them. There are some exceptions if the qual doesn't take place in work hours (see P75 of the funding rules).
You would never, in any circumstances, use the funding adjustment to totally stop funding. You only use that for quals where you want some of the funding, but not all of it. The only aims you can use it for in an apprenticeship, are English and maths, and otherwise it's mostly just for AEB funding. Coding an aim as 99/998 stops funding.

Add aim to ILR without claiming funding

Can anybody confirm the way to add a new aim to the ILR that we will not be claiming funding for. Obviously the usual is SOF and ACT, and im not sure if these should still be used. I could add a funding adjustment, if this would be the simpler way?
