Apprentice withdrawn has returned but still live on employer DAS

Created

An apprentice has quit the family firm and was withdrawn on our ILR. He has now returned to the family firm and wishes to complete his apprenticeship. His employer though, has never stopped his apprenticeship on their DAS account and is still Live.

Can anyone advise how we go about restarting him on the ILR ad the DAS account?

  • Should we just update the expected completion date on the DAS account to factor in the time away form the apprenticeship (5 months)
  • OR - have the employer Pause the apprenticeship from the date entered on the ILR and then re-start it to include the new end date
  • OR - the employer stops the apprenticeship on DAS and starts a new record

We're fairly sure how to update the ILR but the issue is that the apprenticeship record on DAS is still live.

Any advice would be welcome.

Regards, Gareth

In the ILR, it's just a brand new enrolment (with the restart indicator ticked), and you basically mirror that in the DAS. You shouldn't have two enrolments linked to one DAS record, so it's a stop, and a new DAS record. The price will be reduced on the new enrolment DAS record, to take into account finds already drawn down.

If there was less than a 4 week gap, I'd just reinstate the ILR record and leave the DAS record as is, but I assume that's not the case here?
