19-24 care-leaver does not want to inform employer

Created

None

This is about the Apprenticeship bursary. The funding rules say (I've added the bold part):

P125 Where a 19 to 24-year-old apprentice does not want to inform their employer that they were previously in care, then you must report the appropriate code in the ILR. This will generate the funding for you and the apprentice but not the employer. Where this is the case, you must not apply the co-investment waiver (see paragraph P128). This means that you must not record the code for the waiver in the ILR.

Does this mean we need to enter a code or OMIT a code? And if so, which one? Apologies if I'm missing something obvious.

Use LDM code 362 for Apprentice care leavers   (This code should be used to identify apprentices who do not wish their employer to be informed that they are a care leaver).

This will ensure that the 16-18 incentive is only paid tot the provider and not the employer.

Apologies for the delay - many thanks Martin, this is useful. I think I'd been looking for the keyword 'bursary' instead of 'care leaver'.
