Apprentice withdrew in previous academic year

Hello

We have an apprentice who withdrew before R14, but the withdrawal wasn't recorded until after R14. The funds received in 2022/23 have been clawed back, but what will happen about the funds we should have received in 2021/22? We've got nothing to show they were clawed back.

Thanks for any advice

Hello,

You will report this in your current ILR so that the ILR system is advised.  It will then appear on one of the Funding Monitoring Reports as something that has changed in a previous year.   At the end of this year the ESFA will likely ask you to review that report and will also tell you how much money it comes to.  You will then have the funding outstanding taken back from the next remittance.   This is what I believe is the process.   So for now, calculate how much you expect to be taken back and then account for it as a potential clawback at the end of the academic year.

Yep, that happened to us, and it's as Paul says. They do wait until after R14. We already knew about and agreed everything. They should appear in your FRM27 report, so we make notes in there. I just made sure to tell Finance to expect the clawback as soon as I knew.
