Change of employer after failed EPA

Created

Looking for some advice please regarding where an apprentice changes their employer after a failed EPA attempt. It's my understanding that if we record the fail in our ILR, this would trigger the completion payment and the DAS record would also show as completed. If the new employer wants to support the apprentice to retake their EPA, do we have an obligation to record this as a change of employer and if so, how we would do this if the record has been completed?

I've tried seeking advice from the helpdesk but I don't seem to be getting very far!

Thanks

Hi, I have exactly the same issue. We have an apprentice who has failed and wants to resit but is starting with a new employer very soon. How do we record this on the ILR correctly. Do we make the change in employer and not complete the learner as a fail?

Many Thanks

Hi, sorry to start this thread again - but did either of you get further with this one? We have the same situation, and are struggling to get a clear answer from the support desk.

Thanks.

Hi Charlotte,

Our learner in the end did not retake they EPA with their new employer, but the response i had from the support desk was as follows:

You do not need to record the change of employer, for retaking EPA purposes only, as the achievement is reported by the EPA organisation. The only part of the ILR taken into account is the Programme completion status. I think you can then amend the outcome if they then go onto pass their EPA.

Not sure if this will help you at all?

Thanks
