Martin Locock the App Service video explaining the breakdown of costs is quite good for this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WHWz5HKz-U&list=PLXjcCX3hH9LVEYs5j0-c7nUuYPDGjRzRx&index=17

Emma Ford when this happened to one of our apprentices, when we did the restart ILR we recorded the new price as TNP 3 & 4 as the original price in the old ILR would effectively link to this 'restart' ILR anyway as it was a 'temp withdrawal' so links the two together. By putting a TNP 1 & 2 down on the new record, it may cause an error to come up as it may see them as two separate records.

Steve Bowler, we contacted Helpdesk about adjustments to TNP 1 & 2 costs (following an ESFA audit where we was given some incorrect information!!) and we were told, that if the TNP 2 price changes we just have to add the new lines in to show the amended price for TNP2 and reduce the TNP 1 accordingly (do not amend the original prices/dates), and as long as it is the same as the overall price agreed, it won't cause an issue. All this will affect is the amount of completion payment you will be left with as they will only be paying the training payments based on 80% of the full agreed training cost as the 20% completion is what the EPA costs are paid from. So if the total cost is £20,000, you will get monthly payments based on £16,000 over the duration of the course and the remaining £4,000 would effectively be the completion payment, which would be where the EPA (TNP 2) cost comes from, so that shouldn't be above 20% anyway.

Ruth Canham-James, yes it is a bit of a minefield at times. This is just one T level, level 3 which apparently has a GLH of 1090 (core is 520 on it's own without the specialism), which is why I was questioning as to how this stood up as a level 3 qualification, in this case, as it has supposedly been completed in under a year. However, I feel there is more digging to be done, in this case, as we have spoken with the lad concerned, and after further checking the AO's certification page, it appears he has only done half of the qualification, so not sure why this has been claimed as full on the PLR? 🤔

Steve Hewitt, thanks for that response. I remember years ago that for whichever level you were at, the FS could be at the level below, but I felt that I needed to query it as the funding rules seemed to contradict this somewhat.
