I thought that the threshold for receiving sufficient co-investment to trigger the completion payment was something in the region of 90+%. This would mean that small discrepancies would not prevent payment of the completion payment. Has anybody else noticed this, or am I wrong? I find this whole thing tricky to manage because there doesn't seem to be a single report that clearly shows all the necessary information. 1) The co-investment and PMRs report: a) sometimes splits an apprenticeship over multiple lines, eg if there is a BIL. So, the calculations about % received need to be manually calculated. b) sometimes includes apprenticeships for which no co-investment is needed. These lines show that % collected is 0%. 2) The Employer-level co-investment report: a) aggregates multiple lines of the same apprenticeship into a single line (this is good), but b) it omits the amount and % of co-investment payments collected (bad). It would be interesting to hear how others manage this in case I am missing something.

The DfE informed us today that the problem was fixed, and we have now signed our funding claim.

Today, the DfE has provided me with the following update: we are extending the deadline until 5pm on the 7 November. Technical team are still investigating the issue. We will confirm once this is resolved.

Is everybody else accessing funding claims without problem?

Tracy Laight, I have this issue for one of our apprentices. I've read the funding reports guidance, but can't see any relevant notes. Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue?

I'd like to ask a related question. There are two issues here: (1) Age on 31st August in the teaching year of start. I think that all learners funded by the ASF must be aged 19+ on 31st August in the academic year of start, without exception. I think this also applies to tailored learning (the old community learning used to have a lower age limit: learners had to be aged 19+ on the learning start date). Am I correct about this? 2) Age band 19 to 23 or 24+ The funding rules have different eligibilities for the age bands 19 to 23 and 24+, but they do not define the reference date for calculating the learner age. I think that the learner age on the learning start date is always used to determine the relevant age band for eligibility. Am I correct about this?

Peter Hancock commented,
It depends which funding stream you are referring to. Your learner would not be eligible for ASF until 01/08/2025.

Great question, Richard Heath. Somebody has just asked me the same question and I'm searching for the answer. I recall reading some years ago that assessments cannot be funded, but I cannot find this now. Did you find the answer?

Jade Wilson Very interesting, thanks. Have you contacted the support desk for assistance with this yet? I haven't. I'd say that it was around November when my problems started too. I've just thought of another test we could do to prove that the issue is related to software and not our local set up. We could try running the first edition FIS with a file from that era to see if the problem still happens.
