I do feel it is something that does occur often and yet it is not covered in the guidance. The start and subsequent withdrawal is in this years returns so do not want to lose this record. I could just feel this erroring big time without the restart flag yet agree that it really isn't a restart as such. I have sent a query to the DfE so will post their response when it arrives for completeness.

Morning Can I ask what you select if it is an integrated EPA? So they are passed the learning planned end date and should be Completion 1 and Outcome 8 under normal circumstances but there is a credit bearing module as part of the gateway which in effect means they cannot achieve the degree until the EPA is complete. Thankfully this is a course that is about to finish but your thoughts would be appreciated. I have always left them as continuing until the EPA has been assessed and accepted that they will appear as beyond planned end date.

Morning Tom You should have your Period End reports from your R04 submission which will have a Funding Summary report within it that gives you confirmation of the overall amount of money you are expecting to receive. If you need to drill down to the amount you will receive per learner then the details are in the Apps Monthly Payment report. Confirmation of any additional payments you are expecting have a separate report and any EAS payments are in a separate zip file. If the figures are not what you are expecting then check the submit learner data portal under the FM36 Summary for any DLOCKs or clawbacks that might have also impacted your funds. Regards Gill

Hi Claire They are 2 completely different standards with completely different aims, costs, start and end dates and therefore need different ILRs. You may need to consider any KSBs for RPL in the 2nd standard and must ensure the 1st learning period has fully completed before moving to the 2nd. We do have a standard that directly feeds to another, sometimes immediately and sometimes with a years break to embed learning first.

I have not seen that occur Ruth but do suffer with Employers pausing or stopping the accounts before we even know a learner is going on a BIL or leaving !! And this close to R14 is a nightmare. Hope you get it all sorted.

I posted the query to the DfE and got this response The DfE off the job training calculator and the ILR use slightly different logic when calculating apprenticeship duration. The calculator includes both the start and end dates, which can result in a longer duration being displayed. The ILR, however, excludes the end date when validating the minimum required duration for funding purposes. This means that while the calculator may show 365 days, the ILR sees it as 364 which does not meet the 12 month requirement. I agree Martin that an auditor would need evidence for learning on both day 1 and the last day. Lets hope it is on someone's list to make the logic consistent.

And consistency is key. You cannot add it one thing and take it away in another !!

Hi Courtney My understanding is the details of the EPA the team leaders will sit are on the Skills England web site (https://skillsengland.education.gov.uk/apprenticeships/st0384-v1-4) and your EPAO should be able to give guidance on what they will expect to see.

Thanks Richard. I did submit a query yesterday and was told to amend the end dates. I can see that would resolve the issue but wanted to understand why it had occurred and if anyone else was experiencing it too. The calculation on the calculator is D = (C11-C10) + 1 i.e. Learning planned end date - Learning start date + 1 day

[image] That is the annoying thing as the calculator suggests these dates give a duration of 365 days
