Hi Martin, Sorry, it may be lack of sleep, but it feels like it contradicting. "If the Achievement date is on or after 1 August 2021 and before 1 August 2022, then this must be reported in the 2021 to 2022 ILR returns (before R14) in order to earn achievement funding in the 2021 to 2022 year for Adult skills funded traineeships." - Achievement dates will more than likely be after 1 August 2022 , so this says they should be recorded in the 22/23 ILR. "It is important that you establish the destination of all learners who completed a traineeship programme in the current year’s ILR before R14 in order to determine whether they have met the criteria for achievement funding in current year." - The learners will have completed the TS in the current funding year, so this tells me I have to establish destination in 21/22. "For traineeship programmes that start and finish in the current year, the Achievement date must be within 6 months of the Programme actual end date to earn achievement funding." - They will start and finish in the current year, but 6 months of the programme actual end date will be next year. I appreciate any help here and apologise if I'm missing something obvious here but I can't make sense of it.

Thanks for the replies. It is a bit of an ethical conundrum... On our apprenticeship agreement we break down where the negotiated price goes, which includes training (obviously), inductions, overheads etc. and the employer agrees to this. Based on this then, the admin would be slightly higher as there is more involved when making this change. This way also removes the work from the employer as they would not need to go back into the Apprentice Account to accept a change in the funding reservation. To be honest, I would rather not change anything. However I'm not sure if it is an actual funding requirement that means we have to change it... The prices agreed at the beginning have not been re-negotiated, just the EPAO reduced the cost by £50. However If we record £700 and only pay £650 for 100 apprentices, then there is £5,000 that goes somewhere I'm not sure of, but if it stays with us, doesn't look good either.

Thanks again Martin. Just one more question... When I create the new aim, I return restart indicator but leave the original start date blank. Is that right?

As this is similar to a BIL, and the learner is returning under a different employer, would I be right in thinking I record a RTP of the remaining amount. This figure would then be what I reserve in the Apprenticeship Account for the new employer? Sorry for all the questions but all I can seem to find is information on agreed BIL, not learners returning after a full withdrawal.

Thanks Martin. This seems very similar to a break in learning return then minus the '6' in the closed qualifications. Would you happen to know how this affects the new funding incentives introduced for taking on new employees that is claimed via the Apprenticeship Account? The person I spoke to at the ESFA said that whilst the new employer would receive the 16-18 incentive, they would not receive any government incentive even though the previous employer did not receive this funding because the learner left employment rather than being made redundant?
