Hi Annabel, P34.1 Where the employer is using the apprentice rate of the national minimum wage, they must only do so from the apprenticeship start date (see paragraph P30) and not before. Apprentices over 19 who have completed the first year of their apprenticeship are entitled to at least the correct national minimum wage for their age. I'd say yes if they're now 19 and have completed their first year of the programme. Kind Regards, Florina L
