Peer perspective here! There is a marked difference between Assessment for Learning and Assessment of Learning. Using observation as a technique in AfL is likely to include some modelling/ mentoring and therefore potentially new learning that could be classified as/ contribute towards OTJ. Question is whether this is intended to be developmental AfL, often mid-sequence/ unit/ module, or evaluative AoL, usually towards the end of a sequence/ unit/ module?

Hi Karen, The conditions for being on the Register of End Point Assessment Organisations answers this question. Its point 2 you want, this covers examples of significant change that necessitate an update and provides an email address to direct your update to. Am guessing there is an expectation of change as practices develop and that largely these will be picked up under monitoring - so it very much depends on what it is as to whether you'll need to take action. Conditions for being on the register of end-point assessment organisations - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) Hope this helps, Liz

Thank you Martin, I really appreciate your reply. So they drop into the count (P_Count_Overall) as an achiever (P_Ach_Overall) in 22/23 if they pass. Am I right in that they’d revert back to 21/22 if they subsequently failed because they wouldn’t have an achievement date, we’d return to edit the outcome of the learning actual end date in 21/22, unless we were later than the R04 window and fell into 22/23 in terms of reporting year?
