Hi Martin, Following on from this - we have a leaner being signed up with a college and they have stated in their paperwork as a Levy employer if an Apprentice leaves we would be liable for the remaining costs and the 20% completion payment - this doesn't feel right and isn't anything i have come across before while working in training or with other organisations. Yes same here - i left it a good half hr still nothing - then tried to submit the file again and it told me i had submitted the file by that name. Guess i will try again tomorrow now i know.

Morning Jim, I did see a similar thing a few years back where an employer had got the learner to sign a document stating if they left within a certain timeframe of completion they would seek to recover any lost/invested monies if it was within a certain time frame. Looking at ACAS this can be done but only if agreed/signed before hand or in a contract - in terms of apps - I am not sure if this is the case but I would imagine if so they could only recoup the costs paid and only if agreed beforehand.
